  The Source and Summit hymnal, added during Advent 2021, is something we are piloting this Advent and Lent at the 10 O'clock Mass and perhaps in a few other settings. Particularly we will be making use of the entrance and communion antiphons as well as Responsorial Psalms. We began using those at some of our liturgies over the course of the pandemic as part of a subscription we have to help our music ministers prepare music for Masses. Now the Source and Summit organization has just released their first hymnal and since we were already subscribers we were given a discount to give it a try.
  
  In the Catholic Church, there are particular documents and texts which direct us to celebrate Mass properly. These texts help not only our priests to pray the correct words and gestures at the appropriate times but the rest of us as well. Through the years, certain elements of the Mass have been neglected, and resources to incorporate them scarce. This doesn't mean that the Mass was invalid, but rather that we have been missing the richness of these parts, which are primarily taken from the Book of Psalms. More scripture in the Mass is always better! Currently there is a renewal of both interest and resources allowing us to begin re-incorporating them again.
  
  And not to worry, there will still be some spots for the hymns and songs we have all become accustomed to.
