COUPLE TO COUPLE LEAGUE: Come to understand God's plan
for marriage and family. Learning fertility awareness is the natural way to
achieve or postpone pregnancy - it is safe, healthy, and effective. For more
information, visit www.ccli.org.
Youth from Westphalia, Pewamo, and Fowler will be holding a
CAR WASH in the front circle drive of the church on Saturday,
May 31st to help raise money for their trip to the Franciscan University Youth
Conference in July. The car wash will be held from 10:00am-1:00pm.
Hospital Privacy and our Parish: If you or a family
member is hospitalized, the new privacy laws sometimes mean that clergy and
parish staff won't know you are in the hospital. If you tell the hospital at
admission that you are Catholic, your name will appear on a list that is given
to volunteers who bring the Eucharist to the hospitals. But our parish might
still be unaware. If you tell the hospital that you are Catholic AND that you
are a member of St. Mary Parish, we will know you are there, and we can contact
you. By the way, under those same privacy laws, your name will not be listed in
the bulletin or mentioned in the Prayers of the Faithful unless you ask that we
do so. So if you prefer privacy, you can let us know that you are in the
hospital, without being listed in the prayer intentions.
REMINDER: It has been our policy over the last few
years to schedule Mass intentions for the deceased within a year of the current
date. For example, on April 27, 2007 we will schedule Mass intentions for the
deceased through April 27, 2008, staying within the 12-month time frame.
However, Masses for the living - special anniversaries, birthdays, etc., can be
scheduled at any time. Also, Mass intentions can be sent outside the parish, to
Fr. Jim Novak, missionary parishes, etc., if you would like. Just let us know.
Please call the parish office if you have any questions.
